About Quang Trung Museum
The Quang Trung Museum stands at Kien My in Tay Son district, about 45 km inland from Quy Nhon, on the ground where the three Tay Son brothers were born. Cultural & Heritage Story
The Tay Son battle-drum suite is played on twelve drums at once and has three movements: marching out, storming the citadel, and the victory song. Alone among Vietnam's battle-drum traditions it has no movement for retreat.

Must-Try Food in Quang Trung Museum
Tay Son Beef Gie
A bitter, peppery beef offal soup built on gie — the juice from the small intestine — eaten with rice paper and raw herbs. It is the dish Tay Son is known for and it is not gentle on first-timers.
Sugarcane-Field Bird
Small birds caught in the sugarcane that covers the district, grilled or fried whole and eaten with salt, pepper and lime.
Gai Leaf Sticky Rice Cake
A black, chewy glutinous-rice cake wrapped in banana leaf, coloured and scented with gai leaf, filled with mung bean and coconut. Sold at every Binh Dinh bus stop.

Essential Travel Tips for Quang Trung Museum
Ask About the Drum Performance
The martial arts and drum show runs to a schedule rather than on demand. Ask your guide to time the visit around it — the exhibition rooms alone are the smaller half of the day.
Pair It With Ham Ho
Both sit in Tay Son district, well over an hour from Quy Nhon. Doing them on separate days means driving the same road twice.
Inland Heat
Tay Son has no sea breeze and runs several degrees above Quy Nhon from May to August. Go in the morning and carry water.
